Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha Hosts Exotic Batik Fashion Show

On Monday, November 22nd , the Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha, hosted to the second Fusion Fashion Show of traditional Indonesian Batik outfits . Guests were welcomed in the beautifully set at Xennya Terrace where the show took place followed by high tea. All outfits were on sale after the show and proceeds generated from those will be donated to recent catastrophes in Indonesia.

“Batik” or “the Art of little dots” can be traced back to ancient time. A fine batik is really hard to find especially in this part of the world though it is quite popular with international designers using ethnic material and techniques. Mr. Reda Moukhtar, General Manager, Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha said, “We are proud to promote this fashion show. It celebrates the history and rich tradition of Indonesia's ancient style and beauty”.

The collection being shown at Holiday Inn Dubai Al Barsha its collection by Susie Rewita, and is extremely versatile. Batik is less a craft and more a passion for Susie whose flamboyant creations have earned her a terrific reputation of introducing Batik in Dubai.
