Restaurant Category : Italian

Situated along the banks of the picturesque Credit River in Caledon, Terra Cotta Inn is the creative product of Roberto Florindi who is also the chef at Terra Cotta Inn. The view offered here is spell-binding in every way; sprawling towering lush green trees, birds gliding down the sparkling river water, silvery hues of the rippling stream and more. Terra Cotta Inn is a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a lunch under the deep blue skies and warm sunlight. (Click here to see all our Toronto reviews.)

The First Impression: Terra Cotta Inn took our breath away with its splendid views. It was completely worth the hour plus drive from Toronto and the dancing sunrays, the splendor of nature and the wafting smell of good food had us all settled in and relaxed as soon as we entered.

Décor and Ambience: The Terra Cotta Inn had a beautiful old-world charm about it with its heavy furniture intricate in design, the chandeliers decking the ceiling, the old-fashioned picture frame windows, the Victorian paintings splaying the wall and more. The colors too enhanced this feel. We chose to eat in the patio as we wanted to take in the view and the atmosphere of the gorgeous, lush green grounds.

The Food: There were different dining options at the Terra Cotta Inn. The lunch and dinner menu offered at Terra Cotta Inn had choices of appetizers, salads, risotto and pasta and meat and fish. We started with Zuppe do Cozze, also known as mussel soup. It was delicious and a great way to start our meal. We followed it up with an order of the penne Rigate al Diavola and spaghetti tutto mare which was chock-full of delicious and savory sea-food. The food was well-cooked, blended with a perfect mix of flavorings and extremely delicious. For dessert we had the sinfully rich and moist chocolate fudge cake a la mode. It was quite perfect and hit the spot exactly and had us sated and happy.

We also enjoyed a great bottle of wine with our meal at the Terra Cotta Inn. The prices of the wines were quite reasonable, something hard to come across in Canada.

The Service: The service at Terra Cotta Inn was impeccable. The place wasn’t too crowded when we walked in and we were waited on hand and foot with subtle perfection.

The Calculated Impression: We had a great time at the Terra Cotta Inn. With its terrific combination of splendid views, good food and wine, amazing service and more, we couldn’t have asked for more.

What I liked: The amazing food and wine, service and the views offered at the Terra Cotta Inn

What I didn’t like: That it was a little too quiet with the small crowd it attracted being located in the outskirts.

Rating: Bombastic
