The Vero Trattoria is very much a neighborhood restaurant. The décor is elegant, yet modern and inviting. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors. We visited this restaurant for dinner and decided to sit outside. The menu was quite extensive with a variety of pizzas, pastas and risottos. The wine menu was equally good.

We ordered the Margherita pizza as our appetizer. Though it tasted nice, there was nothing special about this pizza. We also ordered the Maltagliatti Con Filetto Bisonte and Linguine Pescatore. The Maltagliatti Con Filetto Bisonte consisted of rough cut fresh egg noodles tossed with bison tenderloin in a fresh chilli oil topped with candied cippolini and chive mascarpone. The Linguine Pescatore consisted of sautéed mussels, shrimp, calamari, clams and bay scallops in a home-style plum tomato sauce. Both of the above were decent dishes, but were they out of this world in terms of taste and flavor? No!

Service at this Italian restaurant was fair. All in all, the Vero Trattoria is a very casual, neighborhood style restaurant. It is definitely not a place that I would go back to. But if you are in the neighborhood and have limited choices at hand, this restaurant would be a fairly safe bet. Our rating for this restaurant is Almost Bombastic.
