Perfect for an afternoon lunch!

Le Village – Paris, France: We were walking around Village Royal, an upscale neighborhood in Paris, when we stumbled upon Le Village. It was a beautiful afternoon that day and their outdoor café-style seating seemed so romantic and inviting that we decided to lounge around and have a quick bite to eat.

Like most restaurants in Paris, the tables and chairs were all packed closely together, so close that you can overhear the conversations of nearby parties, which is either a good or a bad thing depending on your mood. The menu is quite typical of what you would find in a small restaurant or cafe in Paris—a good selection of salads, sandwiches, pastas, and a couple of meat, fish and seafood dishes.

We ordered the spicy lobster pasta, which was priced at a steep 32 Euro. For a small place like this, 32 Euro is quite expensive so we were a bit leery about ordering it at first but it sounded too good to pass up. Needless to say, we were expecting nothing less than supreme-tasting pasta.

As it turned out, we did get 32 Euro worth of spicy pasta. Not only was it delicious, it was fresh and had lots of lobster in it, unlike most restaurants that scrimp on expensive ingredients. Simply put, the quality of the food and the generous portion size wowed me completely. All throughout, service was quick and attentive.

Before leaving, we took a look inside the restaurant. It was much larger than it appeared from the outside but still very cozy and charming. There was additional seating upstairs as well as on the main floor inside.

I was very impressed with all aspects of the restaurant from service to quality of food to the upscale but casual atmosphere. This is a perfect place for lunch. Bombastic!

What I liked: The food, service and atmosphere

What I didn’t like: Steep prices
