La Conca del Sogno Ristorante – Nerano, Italy:
On our boat trip around Capri we chanced upon this quaint and lovely little restaurant called La Conca del Sogno, situated off at a waterfront in Nerano. Established in the 1950s by Pietro Tizzani and his wife Giuseppina, it was passed on to their children, Anna, Orlando, Antonella and Francesca. Centered on a menu of fresh seafood and local produce, this family restaurant serves traditional Italian dishes, as well as modern and innovative recipes.

The casual and laidback atmosphere in La Conca del Sogno made it all the more inviting. There are no pretensions here, just a simple straightforward authentic Italian restaurant. Anna, one of the owners, was there to greet the guests and to make sure that everyone was having an experience worth remembering. I surely had a fabulous time at La Conca!

We had a hard time choosing from their overwhelmingly good and extensive menu, and so we decided to simply go with our waiter’s recommendations. It was a good thing we did because his recommendations were impeccable! We had the most scrumptious seafood appetizer plate followed by lobster pasta that was full of flavor. The lobster was fresh, fresh, fresh! The wine list was also extensive and our waiter once again made an excellent recommendation of a local wine that went very well with the lobster.

From the restaurant, you could see the Li Galli islands, a view that was absolutely breathtaking. We sat out on the deck next to the water and watched the boats come and go; I thought to myself, life couldn’t get any better than this. Towards the end of the lunch, after most people left, the place turned into a much more laidback and free, almost party atmosphere. It was an amazing lunch and an amazing experience. Bombastic!
