Orvieto Restaurant Reviews

Orvieto, Italy is a city in Umbria founded by the Etruscans and was designed to be impenetrable by invaders. It sits on top of a steep 1000-meter cliff made of volcanic ash tone called tufa. A unique city, Orvieto is known for its Etruscan ruins, medieval structures, one of the world’s greatest cathedrals, the Duomo, and for their local wine, Orvieto Classico.

Besides the historical and cultural sites to see, Orvieto also offers a wide range of restaurants from budget to mid-range and top-of-the-line chic and trendy. There are also several local bars and dance clubs in the area. In Orvieto, Ristorante il Giglio d’Oro is the restaurant that charmed me most and I recommend it for those passing by this charming town.
