Shattule Cocktail Bar - Taormina, Italy: In a small town renown for its rich history, Shattule Cocktail Bar sets itself apart from all the other hip nightspots by priding itself as one of the most prominent counterculture clubs this side of Siciliy. Shattule, which means 'jewel-box' in German, is the cozy home to Taormina's fun and fab lifestyle youth.

We got there at the peak of a busy Friday night, and the place was absolutely packed! Although we had to wait quite a while to get to a table, we were ushered over to the bar where we were pleasantly attended to by the bartender. After a few drinks, we were brought to our table. The bar food and beverage menu gave us a glimpse of what the bar offered, unfortunately we were still quite full from our dinner, and so we just opted to have some cocktails.

The young, trendy crowd definitely goes to Shattule to be seen, as evidenced by the sheer number of people hobnobbing in the bar. The relaxed, liberal atmosphere combined with the friendly crowd and great menu give Shattule a Bombastic rating.
