Petra, Jordan - Petra is an archaeological site in the Arabah, Ma'an Governorate, Jordan. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, Petra was also named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in July 2007. It was famously described as "a rose-red city half as old as time" in a Newdigate prize-winning sonnet by John William Burgon and in my opinion regardless of where you are in the world, it’s worth the trip to see.

While the number of luxury hotels in Petra is limited (that really isn’t the reason to visit Petra) there still are a few. On my visit to Petra, I stayed at Taybet Zaman Resort; you can read the full hotel review below.
