Namu is a contemporary Japanese restaurant located in the W Hotel at Seoul, Korea. Arguably one of the trendiest dining venues for sushi in Seoul, this restaurant serves Korean and Japanese influenced dishes. Reservations are recommended.

Namu follows the W Hotel’s modern and contemporary theme and has a chic and trendy interior. This restaurant is comprised of a host of sections, a sushi bar, a teppanyaki station, a sake bar, a large dining hall and a number of private dining rooms. The sushi bar, the hub of the restaurant, is shaped like a Japanese parasol. While the teppanyaki station allows diners to watch the Teppan chefs in action, the wraparound bar serves sake straight from its fully-stocked cellar. The private dining rooms consist of two Tatamies and two western style dining areas appointed with a circular sliding metal curtain. The full length windows offer an amazing view of the Han River.

We were here on a weekend and found the place packed. The menu had a nice selection of sushi, sashimi, salads and desserts to choose from. A set menu option was also on offer. Abalone Sashimi, fresh soba salad and grilled sea bass with tomato and ginger relish are some of the signature dishes. The restaurant also offered an extensive sake and wine list. Single malt beverages or cocktails were also available.

We ordered a variety of sushi and sashimi. All of them were full of flavor. The fish deserves a special mention as it was extremely fresh. Service throughout dinner was top notch.

Overall, the atmosphere at Namu was gorgeous. This Japanese restaurant is ideal for those who are on the lookout for sushi in Seoul. The W Hotel Seoul is one of the trendiest places in Seoul and Namu is a perfect fit for this hotel. Bombastic!
