A great place to stay, good food to eat, things to do, amazing service; these are aspects everyone expects on a holiday they invest time and money in. W Hotel Seoul gives you all that and more. Having received rave Seoul Hotel Reviews and having landed in the Conde Nast Hot List in 2005, they have much to boast about. Located on the rolling slopes of Mt. Acha, W Hotel Seoul with its 252 luxury guest rooms is just 30 minutes away from downtown Seoul. We were here to experience and indulge ourselves in the luxury that W Hotel Seoul extends towards its guests.

First Impression/Lobby: The lobby at the W Hotel Seoul was absolutely gorgeous. An unusual combination of being trendy and chic, but at the same time tasteful and elegant, left us breathless at the sight of it. The hotel followed a color theme of white and grey offset by rich contrasts. The lobby had glowing burnt copper chandeliers suspended from the ceiling, cozy private seating spread all over the lobby and streaming dancing rays of sun brightening the room in its cheery glow. The seating were all done in different designs ranging from flat plush sofa beds with beautiful cushions or cozy round edged deep chairs to sink into. The fusion of the different styles blended in well and gave the lobby a completely unique appearance.

Reception: The reception at the W Hotel Seoul was professional and efficient. We were quickly attended to and shown to our suite. A quick mention needs to be stated here of the pretty lighting found inside the elevator that brightened up our whole journey to the suite. Small attention to details that made the hotel extra special in our eyes.

The Suite: We had booked the Wow Suite for our intended period of stay at the W Hotel Seoul. The suite completely lived up to its name. The white and grey tons were offset by splashed of deep red-orange throughout the room. The bedroom had a large comfortable king bed with 400 thread-count sheets. The duvet was deep red-orange in shade. The splashed of red-orange were seen also in the TV stand and contrasted beautifully with the soft tones of the room. The large windows allowed for sunlight to stream into the room and the cozy window seat was a pleasure to rest on and take in the gorgeous view of the Han River.

The 118 square meters found in the Wow Suite offered a separate living and dining room. The dining room had a table that could seat six and a window seat ran alongside the window-edge of this space. The other side of the dining area offered a living room space with a large 50” plasma TV and this space could seat 10. The living room had a plush, flat sofa in grey upholstery offset by cushions in rich cream and brown. It also had high round bottomed half-chairs in white fitted with red cushions. There was also an exquisite bar counter in gleaming white with elegant décor and bright red-orange bar stools. The bathroom was luxurious and modish. A Jacuzzi to soak in, a shower stand, two deep sinks and all the amenities you could ask for. It couldn’t have given me more reasons to jump in for a relaxing soak as soon as I lay my eyes on it.

Room Service: The room service at the W Hotel Seoul was impeccable. We were allowed to order from all of its restaurants. A great selection of dishes was offered and the delivery and presentation was spot on.

Housekeeping: The housekeeping was absolutely professional; thorough while being completely invisible and unobtrusive.

Concierge: The concierge service at the W Hotel Seoul deems a special mention. It was amazingly efficient and left us feeling completely looked after and catered to. The young ladies working at the service desk were knowledgeable and knew all the hot-spots of Seoul and gave us great suggestions. All this was done with warmth and enthusiasm. Top marks to them.

Restaurant: There were a number of dining options to choose from at the W Hotel Seoul. The Kitchen offering country house food in an urban chic loft-space. The Executive Chef, Ciaran Hickey, is known to serve up some amazing food here and it is a popular stop over for the Sunday Brunches. The Tonic serves delicious light-eats made as spa preparations for those looking for healthy dishes, some Korean dishes and great cocktails. The WooBar located near the lobby with its trendy long bar counter offers 40 types of vodka and over 200 different wines and is a great place for a chat over a drink and some short-eats. The Namu restaurant at the W Hotel Seoul offers great Japanese cuisine which you could enjoy from the long commune table or in a private tatami room. The restaurant also has the Liquid Bar, a wrap-around bar and lounge, where you can choose from their variety of sake, soju, single malt drinks and cocktails. The Living Room offers a live DJ and is a great lounge to relax in with a drink and order a bite to eat.

Pool/Spa/Activities: The W Hotel Seoul has a beautiful indoor heated pool called WET. SWEAT, the fitness center, is equipped with all that you need for a workout. The AWAY spa offers great massages and treatments for the guests and is a good place to stop by. The W Hotel Seoul also has a style lab for makeovers, two tennis courts, a golf course with 42 hitting spots and 200-yards range.

Check-Out: The check-out was as professional, efficient and warm, as all the service we experienced at the W Hotel Seoul.

Overall Impression: The public areas, the suite, the services, the offerings; every aspect of the W Hotel Seoul was amazing. Features like P.A.W (Pets Are Welcome), Whatever/Whenever service and more makes the hotel unique and different. We are pleased to rate the W Hotel Seoul Bombastic.
