Laduree @ 360 Mall - Kuwait: Laduree, the world famous Patisserie from Paris, France opened its first café and store in Kuwait recently. This café is located in the middle of Mall 360. Established in 1862 by the dé Ladurée family, this Patisserie is the inventor of the double decker Macaroon.

Laduree in Kuwait is located on the first level of the mall and has a beautiful French décor. When you are standing inside this store, you feel as if you have been transported to France, the décor is that authentic. The café is located away from the store. Set in the middle of the mall between stores, this café has a bright and open atmosphere. The café follows the charming French décor of the store.

Since I am a big fan of the Laduree in Paris, I was apprehensive that the Laduree in Kuwait would be a bad replica. Needless to say, I was hesitant to visit this place for some time. However, my friends were keen to visit and that’s how I ended up heading there on a Saturday afternoon. To my surprise, the place was not very busy. Definitely not a good sign to start with!

We had a good look at the menu as soon as we were seated. The food at this café in Kuwait was on the expensive side (4.150 KD for soup, 5.45 KD for salad and 5.750 for the club sandwich) even by Kuwaiti standards. The menu had an extensive list of sweets and bakery items but had limited options when it came to anything a little bit more substantial.

We eventually found a number of items we wanted to try. We ordered the Pumpkin Soup, Salad Paéva, Laduree Club Sandwich and Beef Fillet with mashed potatoes. Our order was delivered on time. All the dishes were beautifully presented. The Salad Paéva, a mixed salad consisted of goat and Parmesan cheese sprinkled with glazed almond powder, red basil, black olives and dates, horseradish cream and vinegar and sun dried tomato vinaigrettes. Each and every dish was excellent in terms of flavor and freshness. It was obvious that the ingredients used were very fresh. By the time we had finished all of us were of the opinion that though everything was pricey it was absolutely delicious and definitely worth the price.

Overall, the Laduree café offers delicious food in a lovely setting. The service was impeccable. The awesome flavor and taste more than made up for the high prices. Our rating for this café in Kuwait is Bombastic.
