Vansh Indian Restaurant – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Located in the Feast Village of the Starhill Gallery, Vansh Indian Restaurant is the place to go if you’re craving for spicy Indian food. Vansh serves up amazing Indian fare— authentic, fresh, delicious, good sized portions, and reasonable prices! The place has a cheery vibe with its vibrant interiors of red, yellow, and orange, putting you in a good mood for a big Indian feast. While the décor is far from being traditional with its hanging chandeliers, romantic beaded lights, and mud walls (a bit contemporary Indian, I suppose), the food is faithful to Mughlai North Indian tradition.

We stopped at the Vansh for an early lunch and the moment we stepped in, we were taken in by the exotic and spicy flavors that filled the room. The dining area was casual and comfortable. Because we were one of only three parties in the restaurant, we were immediately attended to. To a point, service was almost excessive as the waiters hovered not too far away, waiting for something to do… but I’d take this any day over poor service.

The menu was quite extensive and had mouth-watering visual aids to help you choose. We started with a healthy serving of lentil soup—refreshing and absolutely tasty! We also tried their vegetable Samosas which had a wonderful crust and a delicious chutney dip. For our main course, we had butter chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala with an array of dips (my favorite was the coriander) and some Nahn bread. Everything was excellent!

Their business card reads “Vansh – authentically Indian, excitingly modern” – very true; an excellent description. For a casual lunch, Vansh Indian Restaurant is Bombastic!
