Le Touessrok Hotel and Resort - Mauritius | Resort Review Page 2

Room Service: The room service of Le Touessrok Resort was outstanding, on-time and very satisfactory. Four our breakfast, three room service employees went to our suite and set up the most impressive breakfast displays on the balcony. It was definitely amazing to see a beautiful breakfast set up to start the day.

Housekeeping: Our Junior Suite came with a butler, one for the day and another for the evening. They offered us for free unpacking and packing of our luggage. The butlers’ attention to details when providing service in the room was phenomenal. Our clothes were neatly folded and shoes were aligned perfectly in the closet. I was even more impressed with the packing paper they put on our shoes to help maintain their shape… truly an impressive service I have never seen from any hotel before!

Concierge: The concierge service of Le Touessrok Resort was competent and provided excellent follow through.

Restaurant: There are several restaurants and bars at the Le Touessrok Resort; Three-Nine-Eight, the main restaurant, specializes in Mauritian, Indian, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Spanish, Italian and French; Saffron for high-end Indian dining; Barlen’s for European and Asian fusion dishes; Sega Bar, the main bar; and Crusoe's Bar and Restaurant and Paul et Virginie & Sands Bar, each located on the nearby islands.

Pool/Spa/Activities: Apart from the scenic stretch of the white sand beach, there are also two pools within the resort. The main pool is located at the mainland building while a more private and isolated adult pool is located near the Fitness Center. Each Villa also has a private infinity pool just outside the rooms.

The main pool was very crowded as there were a lot of families with children, but luckily we were able to enjoy the sun and water at the adult pool.

Just across the main island, there are two private islands available for the guests of Le Touessrok Resort. The first island, Ile aux Cerfs, is a wide golf course for guests who want to spend their time playing the sport. The other island, Ilot Mangenie, is a private island for guests seeking for privacy and luxury.

The two islands are reachable by boat that transfers guests every 20 minutes. When we arrived on the Ilot Mangenie, we were met by three employees. One gave us cold towels, then another gave us sprays of rose water for our faces, and the last offered to clean our sunglasses. One of them also helped us find the perfect spot on the beach and they got us water and chairs which were set up with beach towels. I must say that their service in the main island and in Ilot Mangenie was both superb.

The private beach in Ilot Mangenie has also its own restaurant called the Crusoe’s Restaurant. It serves food under the shade of trees located at the side of the beach. I tried their pizza which was divine, while their curry was not all that impressive.

Check-Out: The front desk clerk at the check out counter was a bit sarcastic and did a lot of things in a few minutes, which was enough to tarnish the almost flawless service provided throughout the resort. When we were given our bill, it was 100% correct (which many five star hotels fail to accomplish) and in just a minute of charging it to our credit card, we were already on our way.

Overall Impression: What I found very interesting and surprised me was that no matter where we went at Le Touessrok we were always addressed by our name. It amazed me how the staff can learn and remember every guest’s name each day.

I really liked the service of the Le Touessrok Resort as well as the amenities of having two private islands for a more secluded relaxation by the beach. I give Le Touessrok Resort a rating of Bombastic but it could have gotten a Fantastic Bombastic rating, if not for the very “ big resort” feeling of the whole area.

The overall design and décor of the resort was less luxurious and sophisticated compared to the Oberoi and the Four Seasons Resort. Nonetheless, the service at Le Touessrok out shined the service at the big name resorts, such as the Oberoi and the Four Seasons.

Rating: Bombastic!
