Cosmopolitan Wine Bar and Restaurant - Monte Carlo, Monaco: A small yet excellent restaurant and wine bar not far from the casino square, the Cosmopolitan Wine Bar and Restaurant is a good place to have a light lunch or an intimate dinner, or simply to enjoy a glass of wine. While the setting is elegant and chic, there are no pretenses here, just a simple and well put together menu of international dishes, and of course, an extensive and carefully selected wine list.
The owners of the restaurant were quite young and seemed very passionate and enthusiastic. Their exuberance spilled over to the restaurant’s ambiance, which was light and welcoming. The interior of the restaurant was well thought of—contemporary chic with hard wood floors, caramel colored metal and leather chairs, and dark laminated table tops. There were wine glasses on every table and wine decanters in some of the nooks of the walls, as well as bottles of wine along the back wall, wonderfully setting an ambiance for drinking the night away.
The staff was also fabulous and very attentive and gave us some wonderful suggestions. I had the minestrone soup for starters. It was light and refreshing. Their servings were quite generous as was the case with their homemade fresh squid black ink taglioni with seafood, which I had for my main course. They surely did not scrimp on the seafood as usual restaurants do in dishes such as these; the plate was overflowing with shrimps and mussels! It was one of the best dishes I have had in a very long time. Their chicken and vegetable curry was also a huge order with tons of chicken and vegetables. Definitely mouth-watering and absolutely satisfying! For desert we had the homemade pistachio and white chocolate ice cream, diffusing the strong flavors of the main course and wonderfully capping off a great meal.
My entire experience at the Cosmopolitan Wine Bar and Restaurant was perfect! I give this small restaurant and wine bar a rating of Bombastic.
