Pulcinella - Monte Carlo: Every once in a while, a restaurant’s massive hype leads me to create lofty expectations. Sometimes they are met, and sometimes they fail miserably. The Pulcinella, unfortunately, falls in the latter.

The reviews and the pictures of this restaurant got our hopes up but after a casual dinner on their outdoor, covered dining room we were less than impressed. The food that they served was traditional Italian food, but they didn’t have any character or zing that usually gives great restaurants that unique touch. It’s as if I dined at a casual restaurant chain such as The Olive Garden. Hardly impressive for a restaurant with such glowing reviews!

Pulcinella offered mediocre food and average service for beyond the roof prices. I find it unimaginable to pay this much for such a lackluster product. Not Bombastic at all.

Surprisingly, the owners also own Cosmopolitan Wine Bar and Restaurant which I rated Bombastic. Maybe they took their concentration off this restaurant to open Cosmopolitan. Either way, skip this one and book the other.
