Postmaster's House in Arrowtown, New Zealand: A fine dining restaurant and deli with a cozy and intimate atmosphere, located in Arrowtown, New Zealand, just short drive from Queenstown, the Postmaster's House serves excellent local meats and cheeses as well as fresh gourmet produce and extensive wine line that complement their wide range of sausage and cheese selections. Built in 1907, the Postmaster's House has a classic and graceful interior with large picture windows that provide exceptional views of Arrowtown vistas. Besides the great food and the superb view, they also offer warm and friendly service that makes you want to come back again and again.

When we visited the Postmaster's House, our waiter presented us with a substantial menu of innovative European cuisine. You can order any dish either as a main course or as an appetizer and have four side options when you order a main course. We decided to try their tasting menu a diverse arrangement that is sure to satisfy any adventure-seeking foodie's palette.

For starters, we had their citrus, pistachio and pecorino salad, a refreshing combination that prepared our palates for the next course, the sticky glazed quail. It was interesting and I have to admit, it was on one of the best quail I have ever had; the sauce and preparation were amazing. On the other hand, their Ottoman steak tartar was also good but nothing too fabulous to daydream about.

For a great evening out or a relaxing lunch, Postmaster's House is worth the drive from Queenstown. I rate the Postmaster's House Bombastic for their fabulous service and above-average food.
