Peninsula Hotel - Manila, Philippines Situated in the corner of Ayala and Makati Avenues, Makati City, the Peninsula Manila has been consistently in the top five list of the best hotels in Metro Manila. During our visit to the Philippines, we decided to see for ourselves if the hotel is deserving of a Fantastic Bombastic rating.

So how did it go? Well, upon checking in, we were greeted by some service issues that never should happen at a Peninsula. Check-in was clumsy, and the professional flair that we normally experience at the Peninsula just wasn’t there. Our suite was super large, though it looked a bit dated. Concierge service was slow to return calls, which did not help in meeting our expectations for the hotel.

Despite these flaws, the Peninsula Manila is a gorgeous and classy hotel, and is a must-visit when in Manila. Though it had the potential to be Fantastic Bombastic, the service issues we experienced downgraded it to a still-respectable Bombastic rating.
