Located in the heart of Singapore city, this bar is named after John Jacob Astor IV, the founder of St. Regis. The bar is open daily from 3.00 pm to 2.00 am and is an ideal spot for both business and pleasure.

The interior of the Astor Bar is done up in plush wood and leather furnishings. Contemporary art pieces adorn the wall. This bar just spells “class and elegance” from the word go. The bar boasts of an enviable collection of premium spirits, vintage champagnes and wines from all over the world. Every drink is served in crystal Esperienze glasses, the newest range from Italy’s Accademia Luigi Bormioli.

Astor Bar’s menu offers more than 50 cocktails. These include low-calorie, dessert-inspired and organic concoctions like the tequila-based Del Basil Bandita and the antioxidant-rich Celadore made with pomegranate and vodka. The signature cocktails include Fifth Avenue, Saint Tropez Smash and Destination Unknown. A menu of decadent canapés compliments the inspiring cocktails prepared by the bar’s mixologists.

The Chili Padi Mary is a spicy local interpretation of the Bloody Mary, St. Regis’ signature cocktail. The local version makes use of organic cherry tomatoes, bird’s eye chilli, ginger and lemongrass instead of the usual Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco. The happy hours at the bar are from 3.00 pm to 8.00 pm. The service is subtle and attentive. Overall, my experience at the Astor Bar was Bombastic.
