Sri Lanka, formally known as Ceylon until 1972, is located in Southeast Asia, off the southern tip of India.

We visited Sri Lanka for three weeks to check out and review a number of luxury and five-star hotels, resorts and even some bungalows throughout the country. One thing we learned along the way from the chic and trendy hotels of Colombo, to the luxury seaside resorts of Bentota and Tangalle, and the lush tea plantations of the Central Highlands is that Sri Lanka is diverse in its offerings and rich in its history and culture.
