La Pasta Ristorante – Zurich, Switzerland

Great Pasta, Great Atmosphere

La Pasta Ristorante – Zurich, Switzerland: In Zurich, we were able to try two different casual Italian restaurants that specialized in pasta—La Pasta Ristorante and Spaghetti Factory (not connected to the Spaghetti Factory chain found in the US). La Pasta was the classier of the two with its chic and trendy yet still laid back atmosphere.

My first impression of the restaurant was that the service was warm and welcoming. From the moment we came in, we were treated as if we were longtime customers that they were pleased to see and to serve. The fact that it was still early for lunch and that there weren’t many customers while we were there may have added to their hospitable disposition. Still, even as the night progressed, service remained attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable.

Their menu was not extensive but this did not matter too much as we would later find that the food was absolutely amazing. The menu consisted of four salads, two soups, five main entrees, and ten pastas. It was easy to find something that sounded good but hard to decide on exactly which one to choose since everything sounded so good.

Finally, we went with the Pumpkin Soup with pine nuts to start our meal. It was full of flavor and unforgettably good. We also had Tortellini filled with cottage cheese and cepes and Fresh black noodles with scampi. The tortellini was perfect and the black noodles with scampi was a sensation. For desert we had the tiramisu, which was easily some of the best tiramisu we have had in a very long time.

The wine list was extensive and the prices affordable. While the prices in general were on the high side, La Pasta Ristorante was relatively affordable especially since most everything in Zurich seems to be on the expensive side.

Overall the rating for La Pasta in Zurich is Bombastic!

What I liked: Black Noodles and Scampi, Tiramisu, Service, decor

What I didn’t like: Prices were a bit high

Rating: Bombastic
