Conrad - Koh Samui, Thailand: The Conrad Resort in Koh Samui, Thailand is a part of Conrad Hotels & Resorts. Spread over 25 acres, this luxurious resort overlooks the Aow Thai beach on the Phang Ka peninsula. Conrad Hotels & Resorts is owned and operated by Hilton Worldwide. Click here to browse through over 40 pictures of the resort.

Located 28 kilometers from Samui airport, the Conrad Koh Samui features 65 one-bedroom villas, 14 two-bedroom villas and one Royal Villa. Pangka Beach, Thong Kut Beach and the Namuang Waterfall are some of the nearby attractions. However, Chaweng, the main tourist location is situated about 30-40 minutes away from this resort.

First Impression/Lobby: The Conrad Koh Samui is located on a secluded cliff which offers stellar views of the bay below. We had arranged for a car transfer to the resort hence did not face any issue in finding Conrad Koh Samui. However, if you are arranging your own transport, finding the hotel may be prove daunting since the signage is limited.

Reception: Once we arrived at Conrad Koh Samui we were received warmly upon arrival. The check-in process was over in a couple of minutes and we were on our way to the Royal Villa in no time at all.

The Villa: We were transported to our Royal Villa (Villa 127) in a buggy. This villa was located at the end of the property and offered the maximum privacy. At 318 square meters, this beautifully landscaped villa was done up in contemporary Thai style and consisted of a little kitchenette, half-bath, dining room, bedroom and living room. The villa overlooked a breathtaking 22.5 meter infinity edge pool. A private wooden deck area furnished with loungers offered panoramic views. A sunken lounge area on the deck and an oversized tub in the bathroom were the other major attractions. All the standard amenities that you would expect from a luxury hotel were available in this villa.

Room Service: If there were a flaw at the Conrad Koh Samui it would be in the quality of food from Room Service, it was just not up to the standard of the rest of the property. The pizza lunch we ordered was quite adequate, however our breakfast the following day was far from impressive. With that said though, the set up and presentation was top notch.

Housekeeping: Housekeeping was meticulous and thorough and they truly did a wonderful job.

Restaurant: There were a number of dining options at Conrad Koh Samui. Jahn, a candle lit dining room offered the finest in Thai and pan-Asian cuisine. The ocean view from this restaurant is breathtaking during the day, but in the darkness of night there isn’t much to see.

While Zest is an all day restaurant that offers Mediterranean style cuisine, the Azure Bar/Grill offers poolside dining. However, the ultimate destination is the Glow Lounge located above the resort on a large rock wall. This lounge serves premium spirits and cocktails along with some spectacular views.

Pool/Spa/Activities: This hotel was equipped with an outdoor infinity pool, a full service spa, a steam room and a fitness center. The fitness center was equipped with the latest cardiovascular and weight building equipment while the two-storied spa offered a number of treatments in luxurious surroundings. Open 24 hours, the outdoor infinity pool was very large and overlooked the sea.

There was no access to the beach, however there was a wooden deck near the beachside which allowed sea access, but it was broken after a recent storm and had not been repaired yet.

Check-Out: Check-out was a breeze just like check-in. There were no issues with the bill as well.

Overall Impression: The Conrad Koh Samui seemed to be empty as we saw only about six other couples during our short stay. Compared to the top-of-the-line villa at Banyan Tree Koh Samui, our gorgeous Royal Villa at this hotel was by far the best. The only drawback, if at all any is that Chaweng, the main tourist location is situated a bit far, but with the beautiful surroundings at Conrad Koh Samui there wasn’t much reason to venture too far! All in all, the Conrad Koh Samui gets a solid bombastic rating from us.
