Nahm Thai Restaurant – Bangkok, Thailand: Awarded by the UK industry publication, Restaurant Magazine, as one of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Nahm is a place we surely were looking forward to reviewing.

Located in the Metropolitan by COMO in the heart of Bangkok, Nahm is one of its highlights. Knowing this was one of the best Thai restaurants in Bangkok we book a table well in advance of our visit.

We arrived at Nahm for dinner, and upon entering, we were pleased to see how beautifully designed the restaurant was. It was a very fancy place, though nothing over the top.

Tables were made of wood, with a soft spotlight illuminating the center of the table; chairs were made of plush white leather with medium height backs, and were very comfortable. The place itself was dimly lit, enough to stoke the mood for romance -- if you were so inclined -- but not too dark where you can’t see whom you’re talking to. A modern Asian restaurant that was simple, elegant and trendy.

Fortunately the menu had clear descriptions of the dishes and their contents in English.

For our appetizer we had Coconut Cup Cakes with red curry of crab.

Our main course (we ordered a variety of dishes) consisted of Yellow Curry of Tiger Prawns with heart of palm, Fried Fish, and Spicy Beef Curry with cumin and long leaf coriander.

Topping it all off with dessert, we had Black Sticky Rice with longans, and Young Coconut served with caramelized taro.

What can we say about the food? To sum it up, I can say with confidence that this was one of the very best Thai restaurants in Bangkok or pretty much around the worlds that we’ve been to.

A note of caution though, the food at Nahm food tended to be spicy hot. As a fan of spicy food, I found that they took it to a whole new level! If you are not a fan of spicy food, don’t let that stop you since you can easily inform your server so they to tone down the spices a bit.

Service was outstanding. From start to finish, we had no complaints as to the quality of service from begging to end. It was top notch service to match their over the top eloquent, spicy, super-tasty Thai food!

Our dinner bill totaled about $200, with $80 of that for wine (we had Sancerre white wine). By Bangkok standards, it is an expensive place. But believe me, if you love Thai food and upscale dining, Nahm is worth every penny!

Overall, from the gorgeous ambience, impeccable service, and fantastic food, we give Nahm our highest rating, a well-deserved Fantastic Bombastic.
