Kiku Japanese Restaurant at Le Méridien Dubai - Dubai, UAE: Le Méridien Dubai has many dining options and as we love our Sushi we booked a table at Kiku, the Meridien’s Japanese restaurant. The ambiance at Kiku is contemporary Japanese—the space is large, the design minimal and Zen-chic with bonsai trees set on every table to complete the details. They had teppanyaki tables, a sushi counter, a sake bar, and a Tatami room.
We had high hopes about the sushi as there were a number of Japanese businessmen in attendance while we were there, and as they say, you can tell whether a Japanese restaurant is any good if the Japanese go there. Well, it seems that adage isn’t a full-proof indication as we were in for a huge disappointment. To begin with, there weren’t too many Maki rolls to choose from. We tried the salmon with fish roe and it was boring and tasteless. The tuna sashimi was not fresh, the unagi even worse. Their vegetable tempura was commercial at best.

To top it off, the prices were unjustly inflated especially for the quality, the serving size, presentation and the service. The staff did not even know the menu!
If you enjoy sushi, skip Kiku and set your taste buds on something else.
Definitely Not Bombastic.
What I liked: Nothing
What I didn’t like: Quality of the food, the service, limited menu
Rating: Not Bombastic
