Pisces Seafood Restaurant - Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE: Definitely the best seafood restaurant I have tried in Dubai, the Pisces Seafood Restaurant exceeded all my expectations (considering fresh seafood is usually imported to this city and technically not out-of-the-sea fresh). The décor was minimal to the point of being plain. The motif seemed to work around the chrome and glass staircase. From the terrace, there were great views of the canals. Seating was both indoors and out on the terrace. Naturally, we chose to dine al fresco.

We had the grilled crab baked in tomato, olive oil, and basil. It was absolutely scrumptious! A tiny order of mashed potatoes was hidden under the crab, and blended with the flavors perfectly. I could have eaten more—they were that melt-in-your-mouth good!

For the next course, we had oysters—baked and raw. The baked ones were topped with cheese and hollandaise sauce. For me however, the oysters were best savored raw—delicate yet piquant at the same time. In addition, we had the lobster and sweet corn bisque which was wonderful, flavorful!

By the time we got to our main course, the Salted Sea Bass, we were so full that we could not finish it. While it was perfectly prepared, it came with vegetables and potato wedges which were not all that impressive.

For dessert, we had Chocolate Balloon, warm Chocolate Soufflé Tart with mandarin ice cream. The chocolate soufflé was mouthwatering good, but the ice cream did nothing to enhance the dessert.

The service and presentation was good overall. My only annoyance was that the wait staff seemed to act as if they were serving in a French five-star restaurant. While this was generally not a problem, you could tell they were putting on an act, and it was not coming naturally to them. Regardless, they did their job fairly well--smooth, non-intrusive, and perfect timing. All in all, I would say I had a pleasant experience at the Pisces Seafood Restaurant and would not hesitate to go back. I rate it Bombastic!
