Nice, but over-rated, and over-priced

Four Seasons Hotel - Austin, TX: Located on the north shore of Lady Bird Lake, the Four Seasons Hotel has been described as being a stone’s throw away from the city’s central business and entertainment districts. Offering 291 spacious rooms and 28 luxury suites, the hotel prides itself in its spectacular views of Lady Bird Lake and the Austin landscape.

But does it live up to the hype? In our opinion, just barely. The lobby's interior is classy looking with the usual shiny tiled floors and flowers on top of glass tables. Classy, but cliché. It looks like your generic hotel lobby. As for the rooms; well, we booked the Lake View room with balcony and its small size deflated what lofty expectations we had. It was tiny and way overpriced. There was a view of the lake, which was nice. Housekeeping was average at best. Room service was way over-priced, definitely a turn-off.

Trio, a fine dining restaurant and the Lobby Lounge for cocktails and live music, are the two relaxing dining/entertainment venues Four Seasons Austin offers. A heated saltwater pool and full service spa are two other ways to relax away your time in Houston.

Overall, Four Seasons Hotel Austin was not up to the Four Seasons standards. You get less for what you pay for, which is another way of saying its overpriced. The place is nice, though not worth the money you give. Our rating? Almost Bombastic.
