Bombastic Italian Dining in SFO
Restaurant Category : Italian
Scala’s Bistro – San Francisco, California: It’s rather common for people to leave their hearts in San Francisco, as the saying goes, but what about people who leave their stomach and appetites? The city renown for its idyllic cable cars and iconic Golden Gate bridge is also home to some delicious restaurants that cater to various tastes and wallet sizes.
Scala’s Bistro is a swank establishment reminiscent of contemporary Parisian bistros set in the downtown San Francisco. The minute we entered we knew we were in for a treat because of its great atmosphere and service. We were seated immediately (we went for lunch), and we ordered the most delightful Bruschetta I’ve ever had! We had the Orecchiette & Italian sausage pasta which was more flavorful than usual. We also had their Linguini with Clams which was a splendid contrast to the sausage. All this were paired with a 2005 Honiq Sauvignon which gorgeously rounded out the entire lunch.

Scala’s Bistro is a definite go-to for Italian cuisine if you find yourself visiting the West Coast. Bombastic!

I am almost a native san franciscan having grown up there and visit almost every year.
I don't understand the bombastic moniker for Scala's bistro at all. In a city with as many fabulous, truly bombastic restaurants like San Francisco, I think Scala's is fair.
Contemporary Parisian Bistros in SF like Boulevard are head and shoulders above Scala's which seems to be a tourist trap with mediocre food. (at least that's been our experience).
Please write some reviews of some of the wonderful restaurants unique to San Francisco on your site. Thanks. Love the web site!!!!
