Stratta – Wynn Resort and Casino - Las Vegas, Nevada: Stratta is an Italian trattoria located inside the illustrious Wynn Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Headed by executive Chef Alessandro Stratta, this restaurant focuses on regional Italian cooking using authentic flavors and fresh ingredients; they serve both traditional Italian and innovative Mediterranean signature dishes. Everything is made from scratch every day, including the pasta.

The ambiance here is warm and relaxed to complement the soulful and traditional cuisine yet still maintaining a lot of chic. It is a place to indulge luxuriously in comfort food. For starters, we ordered the Corsa Salad with warm goat cheese ($12), a mix of arugula, fire-roasted mushrooms, avocado, and sweet corn. While it was a bit of an odd combination, it could not have been any better. The warm goat cheese just added a beautiful flavor that brought the whole dish together, excellent! For the main course, I had the Maine Lobster ‘Fra Diavolo’ ($38), which was spaghetti with Maine lobster and sautéed shrimp in a spicy garlic-tomato sauce. It was a succulent dish reminiscent of some of the dishes I had in the south of Italy last year.

In addition to the marvelous food, they also had an extensive and good wine selection. But the service was another world altogether. After being seated, it took forever before we were actually waited on. We were there at lunch and there were long delays between courses.

The experience could have been remarkable if not for the lackluster and disappointing service. I rate the Stratta at Wynn Resort and Casino, Las Vegas Between Bombastic and Not.

What I liked: The lobster spaghetti, the chic and trendy decor

What I didn’t like: Poor Service
