The Ritz-Carlton Hotel - Dearborn, MI
The Ritz is now The Henry
I had rated the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Bombastic, but I have removed the review since they are changing.
See the press release below:
The Marriott International Inc. will bring its latest hotel concept to the Detroit area as it replaces the Ritz Carlton name in Dearborn with a new brand.
Known as being part of the Ritz Carlton chain of luxury hotels since it was built 21 years ago, the hotel at 300 Town Center Drive has been renamed The Henry and will be part of Marriott’s new Autograph portfolio of hotels, said Vivian Deuschl, vice president of corporate communications for Ritz Carlton.
“The Autograph line is a group of independent hotels that all have unique names,” she said.
Bethesda, M.D.-based Marriott launched the Autograph line in November as “upper upscale and luxury, independent, hotels with distinctive personalities in major cities and desired destinations worldwide,” according to a press release issued at the time.
Bethesda, M.D.-based Host Hotel & Resorts Inc. sold the Ritz property.
The hotel will be managed by Denver-based Greenwood Hospitality Group, though the investors are not known. Tom Conran, a principal with the firm, did not respond to two phone messages left by Crain’s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
