Flight Information: Bangkok Airways – Koh Samui (USM) to Bangkok (BKK) – Flight PG 144 - Business Class Flight Review

A regional airline, Bangkok Airways is based out of Bangkok, Thailand. The Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok is the headquarters of this airline.

During our holiday in Thailand we had an opportunity to fly from Bangkok to Koh Samui. This flight review gives a detailed description of our return business class flight from Koh Samui to Bangkok on Bangkok Airways. (Click here to read our Bangkok luxury hotel and restaurant reviews.) Check-In: We checked in at the business class counter, which turned out to be huge advantage. The line for economy was massive and there was just one window open at the time of our check-in. But it was just a matter of minutes before we were checked in and on our way through security and to the lounge.

The Lounge: We waited in the Blue Ribbon Business Class Lounge till our flight was announced. You can read the review of this exclusive Blue Ribbon Club from Bangkok Airways here.

First Impressions: The interior of the airline was very typical of what you would expect from a domestic business class cabin, fairly basic and like many airlines, done up in blue.

The Cabin: The business class cabin had a 2x2 configuration in three rows. The plane’s bright blue interior looked a bit dated. However, for an hour long flight, it sure was comfortable enough.

The Flight (Service/Food/Drink): Service during this flight was to my surprise very attentive. In fact, with just an hour of flight time, the flight attendants did a superb job of presenting lunch and taking care of our every need.

The lunch consisted of a mixed salad with Japanese dressing and roasted beef tenderloin with hot basil sauce. The roasted beef tenderloin was served with Khao Horn Sukho, jasmine rice, pumpkin and sugar snap peas. We were served a peach cake for dessert.

The plane did not offer any entertainment. However since the flight time was just one hour and lunch was served in between, there was hardly any time for the TV.

Arrival: We arrived in Bangkok late since we had left Koh Samui late due to a storm.

Overall Impression In my opinion, paying that extra money to fly business class on this Bangkok Air flight was indeed worth it. From the quick check-in to the nice lounge, extra luggage allowance and first class service on board, it was worth every penny! Given a chance, I would definitely do this again in a heartbeat. For a short one hour flight, this airline sure does get a rating of Bombastic from us!
