Qantas Airlines - Melbourne to Adelaide - Flight QF683 - At the airport we used the quick check-in kiosk and then dropped our bags at the baggage drop-off counter. The whole check in process was fast and efficient.

We headed up to the Qantas lounge which we were surprised to see how large it was. Clean, well laid out, all the amenities you would find at any international airport in Europe.

Our flight from Kuwait to Dubai was delayed so we checked out the Emirates lounge. It was spacious and quiet with a small selection of hot and cold dishes and free wireless service (always a plus when you have time to kill).

Once we boarded the plane we were offered a selection of juices and settled into our reclining, plush, First Class seats, bombastic.

As soon as we took off drinks and mixed nuts were served and dinner orders were taken.

It was a short flight yet they still offered a full dinner of either chicken stroganoff with spinach spaghetti or Iranian chicken along with fresh rolls or a delectable brownie with vanilla sauce for desert. I had the chicken and was thrilled with my choice. The flavor was like mom's home cooking however the spaghetti was a bit undercooked but over all, dinner was great.

In addition to the fully reclining seats that went flat to a sleeping bed there was a top of the line entertainment system with video on demand, tons of music choices and games. Everything you need to make your flight bombastic. Unfortunately with this being such a short flight we were not able to take advantage of everything.

Service was fast and efficient and because of the short flying time, it seemed as though it never stopped.

Boarding the Boeing 737-400 for the flight to Adelaide was fast and it was great to see the seats were full sized and offered ample legroom even in economy class.

The flight crew was friendly and professional and even though the flight was just over an hour long, they served sandwiches, fresh apples and full cans of sodas, juices and water, a huge improvement over domestic flights in the US.

In-flight entertainment played on the drop down ceiling mounted televisions so you did not have on-demand entertainment but they offered a wide selection of programming and offered headsets free of charge, unlike some American carriers.

By the time we got to the baggage carousels our bags were there waiting for us. This is one of the most efficient airlines I've ever flown.

Overall, this short flight was perfect. No hassles, just quick, efficient, friendly and on-time.

Would I use Qantas again? Most definitely. No wonder they have been listed as a top airline for many years running in Conde' Nast, Travel and Leisure and Luxury Travel magazines.
