A quiet spot away from the crowds

American Airlines Admirals Club – Toronto (Pearson) Airport: The Admirals Club Toronto located in Terminal 3 was hard to find due to the lack of signage. After a short walk around, I did actually find it. It is located immediately after security, and by immediately, I mean take two steps and then make a hard right. You will then see the AA Admirals Club ahead of you on the left.

This airline lounge review will be short, in large part due to it being quite sparse, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The Admirals Club is divided into three sections: an area comprised of big black leather chairs, a dining area, and a bar.

There was coffee, juice, store-bought cookies, and two kinds of apples when we arrived. Not a king’s feast, but it served its purpose of refreshing us while we waited for our flight. The lounge was also equipped with free Wi-Fi, which enabled us to stay connected and satisfy our internet cravings. The business area had a few computers and work spaces for the work-obsessed. Again, nothing fancy but it got the job done.

The bar opens at 11, where they then serve limited (with coupon based on your airline status) complimentary beer and drinks. There is an extra charge though if your tastes prefer upgraded (read: imported) beer and spirits. Light snacks and sandwiches are also served if you need more than a swig of alcohol.

We found the AA Admirals Club to be a quiet lounge, at least on a Sunday morning at 9 AM. For an international lounge, we feel it was lacking in amenities. However, as is the case with US carriers, lounges are typically sparse. A quiet spot to relax is always a bonus which is why we give the American Airlines Admirals Club in Toronto a rating of Almost Bombastic.
