A lounge slipping in service and offerings while capable of much more.
The Wing which is a Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge was considered a benchmark of luxury and comfort at one point of time. But of late, the reviews of this Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge haven’t been too favorable. I was here to discover for myself what was the truth about this First Class Lounge. Location and Timing: The Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge is situated on Levels 6 and 7 of the Hong Kong International Airport. It opens at 5:30 am until the last flight departure.
First Impression: The Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge is 4,500 m2 in space and the spaciousness of it was the first thing to strike me. The offers at first glance come across as luxurious, but the place wasn’t as luxurious as they led its visitors to believe. The lounge was pleasant in appearance and a break from the loud and crowded airport.
Décor and Ambiance: The Cathay Pacific First Class Loungeoffered couches and seats in warm earth colors to relax in. The lounge was done in soft tones and was comfortable without being very classy or chic. It was spacious with high ceilings and large windows at the top.
Amenities and Offer: The Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge offered a shower in The Cabanas, The Library to have a quiet read in, WiFi and small workstations. The offers were not very impressive in up-keep and had me wondering if this was really a first-class lounge.
Food Available: The Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge offered food at The Haven. The food is of medium quality and service wasn’t that efficient.
Overall Impression: The Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge had me quite disappointed. The service, offer and amenities were just not on par with the requirements of that of a first-class lounge.
Rating: Between Bombastic and Not.
