Adidas Striker Large Duffel Bag

Good for what it was designed for, but no good as a checked bag.

The Adidas Striker Large Duffel bag with a dimension of 30.5" x 14.5" x 13.5" uses the unique FreshPAK technology to inhibit odour-causing bacteria. This duffel bag has a large main compartment with multiple zip pockets and a padded, adjustable shoulder strap. This duffel bag is ideal for going to the gym or on weekend trips, but not ideal for checked luggage.

I bought the Adidas large duffel bag for an upcoming trip to Africa where we will be limited to 15 KG per person. I thought this large duffel bag would be great as it was light weight and seemed durable. Though the manufacturer’s suggested retail price of this duffel bag is $50.00, I found mine at a sports shop for just $40.

I used this bag for an international flight from the US to Kuwait only to find that by the time it made its way to Kuwait, it had a large rip in it. Needless to say, this Adidas duffel bag is not the ideal piece of luggage for airline travel.

Not having time to find a new duffel bag before my trip to Africa, I had the rip repaired and used it for more international flights (Kuwait to Dubai to Mauritius, Mauritius to Kenya, Kenya to Tanzania to Zanzibar and Tanzania to Dubai and back to Kuwait) and the bag held up perfectly.

Now, is this a duffel bag I will depend on for future flights? No, it’s too big to use as a carry on, and I would not risk using it as a checked piece of luggage. For a local travels, or for what it was actually designed as, a “gym bag”, yes, very likely I’ll use it for that.

Overall, the Adidas Striker Large Duffel Bag is not ideal for use as a checked-in baggage. Our rating for this duffel bag (used as a checked piece of luggage) is Between Bombastic and Not.
